“Rising” is the new exhibition by Rui Soares Costa, continuing his investigation into how to record time and how to represent this abstract entity in visual objects. In “Rising”, the artist uses the tides of the River Tagus as a drawing instrument, oxidizing metal pieces in different ways as a result of the rising and falling water levels, which are treated as a fundamental element in this equation.

As a consequence of climate change, this is a parameter that has been increasingly affected, especially in recent years, and this issue is also incorporated into the series.

The exhibition will be extended into Rui Soares Costa’s studio at Olho de Boi, in Almada.
