Galeria das Salgadeiras resumes the initiative “Galerista por um dia” (“Gallerist for a Day”), and this year we invited José Pacheco Pereira to conceive an exhibition based on works from our collection. From his perspective and sensibility emerged “Rule and Exception,” a group exhibition featuring predominantly monochromatic works centered on abstraction and its variants, what one might call the “rule”, including drawings and photographs by Cláudio Garrudo, Paula Almozara, Teresa Gonçalves Lobo, and Tiago Casanova.

Yet, as the saying goes, and underscoring the paradox of which life is also made, there is no rule without exception. To mark this circumstance, a work by Guilherme Parente will be shown, for whom painting is color.
