Galeria das Salgadeiras will be present at the 4th edition of the international contemporary art fair Drawing Room Lisboa, at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes. The curatorial proposal “Beyond the Shadow” presents works by Carlos Alexandre Rodrigues, Rui Horta Pereira, and Rui Soares Costa.

“Shadow inherently carries within it the idea of movement, of a continuous search for the ‘Truth’ that lies beyond what is visible. Whether it be the shadows of Plato’s cave, ‘What a strange scene you describe and strange prisoners; they are like us’, or the shadows at the entrance to Dante’s Hell seeking the path to redemption, ‘whoever you may be, shade or living man’, or Borges’ ‘In Praise of Darkness’, ‘I live among luminous and vague forms that are not yet darkness.’ What, then, lies ‘beyond the shadow’?” — Ana Matos, in the room sheet.
