“Descuradas” reveals a significant number of works from the Norlinda and José Lima (NJL) collection that have never been publicly presented since they were integrated into the collection. This private collection has been made available to the public at the Oliva Art Center since 2013, where it has been showcased through a regular program of temporary exhibitions. Over the past ten years, approximately forty-five exhibitions have been held featuring works from the collection, taking place at the Oliva Art Center in S. João da Madeira and in collaboration with the center’s satellite programs. Despite the extensive public exposure of this private collection, many of its works have remained hidden in storage. “Descuradas” brings together works by Portuguese and international artists, ranging from the most renowned to the most obscure. Alongside these are new acquisitions. In the year when the Oliva Art Center celebrates ten years of activity and growth, this exhibition will reveal an unknown facet of the collection.
The collective exhibition can be visited until September 17 at Oliva Art Center in S. João da Madeira.
