“More than human” is the title of Rui Soares Costa’s new exhibition at Salgadeiras Contemporary Art Gallery, with original soundtrack by André Gonçalves.
“In an exercise in coexistence, Rui Soares Costa calls on us to listen to the river as an agent of inscription and transformation, a gesture that resonates with the thinking of Ailton Krenak, an indigenous leader who criticizes the idea of humanity as something separate from nature, recalling that “that river that is in a coma is also our grandfather.” More than human resonates in this appeal, questioning the supremacy of the human and proposing an art where matter, time, and river become partners in creation.” — Ana Borralho in Exhibition’s Text.
