In “Estes pés só pisam vento,” Rui Soares Costa, working on paper and wood, with pen or through burning, continues to explore the different expanded territories of drawing, intertwining this, the form of expression that most represents his artistic essence, with painting, the objectual, philosophy, and thought. All of this comes together in an equation of controlled parameters centered on time as subject matter. As Joana Valsassina notes in the exhibition room sheet: Rui Soares Costa records time in drawing, time being, as he says, “the only thing we cannot add to existence.” Estes pés só pisam vento captures the lightness of its invisible trace and the reconstructive temporality of its memory.
The exhibition is accompanied by an original soundtrack by André Gonçalves, in collaboration with Casper Clausen.
